ACPL Foundation Board Visioning Exercise

Visioning Activity:

This visioning activity is designed to help the board identify where we are doing well, where we could use improvement, where we can dream, and where we should go next.

Board members: Consider the following questions about the ACPL Foundation. Think about these questions in relation to these areas: board of directors, staff, fiscal responsibility, fundraising, marketing, outreach, donor relations, advocacy, and organizational management.

We will have a little time at the board meeting to write down ideas, but we encourage you to fill out the form included in the email before the meeting to save time. You don’t need to answer every question – just put down your highlights.

Once we gather everyone’s answers to the questions, we will use the Sorting Prompts below and divide the answers. At the board meeting, we will evaluate each area to decide how to move forward.

Sorting Prompts:

Thumbs Up: Things that are going well
New Ideas: Ideas that we should explore during the strategic planning 5-year period or general ideas
Quick Fixes: Things that need minimal attention to accomplish
Change Direction: Things we can give up doing or things we can do more efficiently
Alert: Problems that need solutions
